Yesterday I remembered something my father said to me when I was 15. I remembered it like the day he said it to me. Yesterday, I actually heard him reminding me. It was inspiring and gave me a strong energetic connection to his love for me. What he said to me was a personal thing. And I am sharing this because it is so poignant for the time we are in. Good and bad, light and dark, dual or not – of course, it’s all how we look at it and relate to it. I am feeling the veils of reality being so thin right now that we have little separating us from the spirit realm and what we know as real in this third dimension. I am hearing, seeing and feeling communication happening consistently and constantly. “WHAT DOES IT MEAN?” It means that so much energy and light are infusing our reality that it’s hard to base reality on anything we have known before. The challenge to have faith and trust in our alignment to the light has never been more rewarded and rewarding. I am watching people manifest thoughts into reality in a matter of moments. I am watching choices be made determining experience and reality. I am witnessing pre-existing thoughts, energy, emotion or pre-disposition manifest into form in front of my eyes. What a time, what a place, what a choice to be alive. And I think to myself, “What a wonderful world!”

My daughter held my hand today and I could feel her love passing though her heart, through her hands to my hands and heart. I have never felt so comforted. I felt my father expressing his love to me, I have never felt so comforted. I accept this love and I give it back.

I keep telling friends, “You have a wonderful toolbox. Open it up, use it. Now is the time you have been training for. Wake up. Practice. Be conscious in your choices to live your life.” Aho!

Love to you, David

Here’s a personal tidbit for those wondering where I have been spending some of my time when not working, writing and being a father. I have been talking to my good friend, Walter Lutz about learning to fly. Walter is a flight instructor among other things. So, I recently began taking pilot lessons from him. Someone asked me is it fun? It’s fun but it’s work. It’s not going to be easy getting a pilot’s license and it’s something I feel like I need for the future and it’s something I have always wanted to do most of my life. I’ve had about 8 lessons so far and I can pretty much do takeoffs on my own, next up is learning to land as well as precise maneuvering of the plane in the air. So, there’s another bit of sharing for the caring folks…love, David

Hey Friends,

This is a reach out to all of my friends, actually this is to the people like Susie from London. It’s nice to know you care and that you are a “spiritual stalker – in a good way”. It’s good to know you have been checking to see what writing is coming out of me (or what lack of writing on the blog that you have reminded me of!).

Anyway…I appreciate your reach, your message and your love. I know life has been rough for you these last few years and with the support of friends like you who have been through so much, I know I can share more. Thanks for the push to get me back sharing more of my writing. I’m on it! Love, David

Fire – how do you form an alliance with fire to make it safe enough to walk on? If you try to approach walking on red hot coals with logic you will probably never be able to do it. Walking on fire is not about the ego and doing something for thrills. Rather it is about creating a very sacred relationship with the element of fire. This starts as a completely conscious process, some of the steps I take are:

1. Permission from the land to create a sacred fire and to be able to spread coals on it – it’s perfect with heavy snow on the ground

2. Selection of the wood to be used in the ceremony

3. Safe weather conditions – no wind, snow covered ground (we clear the necessary path of snow)

4. Permission from the fire department to have a safe fire

5. Working with the wood and the fire pit to get the energy moving appropriately

6. Engaging with the big fire in the sky – the sun and stars

7. Teaching people about forming a relationship with fire and encouraging hearts to open

8. Teaching people about the relationship between the sun, earth, moon and trees (wood)

9. Gifting the fire with many humble prayers and offerings

10. Being patient with the fire to burn in a peaceful, slow manner

11. Teaching the participants the responsibility of awareness and support of each other during the whole ritual

12. Teaching the participants the mantra’s and how to get prepared to walk on the coals

13. Maintaining a high level of awareness and safety with the coals at all times – plenty of water available

14. Having the proper tools available to work with the coals – shovels, wheel barrow, rakes, water hoses

15. Having experienced helpers available to handle the coals and support the process

16. Personally walking the coals as many times as it takes to know the process is safe

17. Supporting people in their walk

18. Making sure the fire is properly extinguished when done

19. Hugs all around when complete

20. A good meal to finish the evening!

In this photo Fred Guerin and I were working to start a fire the old fashioned way, once an ember was created we were working to bring it to a flame.

Once the fire is safely burning we spend a couple of hours in a conscious exchange with the fire asking it to be gentle with us.

But the hot coals are still very daunting no matter how many times you have walked on them. To repeat, this is not a masculine, rip roaring hoop-a-la…it is a very emotional, heart opening experience, where people’s bodies and spirits do amazing things to allow them to walk on hot coals. If done in a conscious way walking on fire is very safe and amazingly healing for the body, emotions, mind and spirit. Your body will do whatever it must to let you walk on fire!

1. I love my mother for her strength, perseverance and dedication to life.

2. I love KY for being my birthplace, I have deep roots buried in the rich clay soils here.

3. I love the Oak, Maple, Locust, Sassafrass, Hickory, Birch, Pine, Chestnut, Elm, and Sycamore trees.

4. I love the KY bluegrass, fescue and the gentle rolling hills green as far as the eye can see.

5. I really miss the agriculture crops grown here – corn, soybeans, wheat and tobacco.

6. I miss being outdoors with the season as the crops are growing and nature is doing its thing.

7. I don’t miss the summer humidity so much, but I do miss the abundant pure water supply on the farm. It’s one of the great features of clay soils, they provide excellent filtration and keep the ground water safe from unwanted chemicals and pollution. A family friend told me the water in West KY was some of the purest on the planet.

8. I miss the family, friends and country neighbors – it’s a comforting feeling knowing your neighbors.

9. I love the West – CA and NM – they’re my new homes, but I also love my roots. I am grateful for my farm background. My connection with the Mother Earth and Mother Nature. It was no accident I was born here!

10. I love the KY Wildcats. You’d have to grow up here to know what I mean.

11. I love my visits home and get more and more excited every time I come home.

12. And I love that my daughter, Ruby comes home with me every Thanksgiving. We have a great time traveling, talking and playing monopoly!

I found this poem I wrote a long time ago. It was tucked away in a notebook. Thought it might be nice to share it here.

Tim

A day of events large and small

Beginnings and endings

The dust and the spirit blowing in the wind

As the two meet in an instant

My friend takes a fall and he rises above

To wonder and adventure where he’s played many times

The land of the vision, the light and the free

Where dust does not settle and clouds ever form

Where spirits are frolicking and ferns are with flow

Where fairies are princesses and elves are kings

In the land of the mighty

And simple is true

Where life is the same

But experience is new

For the other dimensions are close but so far

And the people who play here are looked at so strange

But oh they are happy, and cares are so few

The magic is precious and my friend Tim is home

In the land of freedom where spirits do roar

This man will soar like the hawk, the eagle and the crow

Along with hackles and cackles of the coyote

Yes, he will play and watch from afar

His presence is felt and his love is so true

He is here now in my heart

Tim, I love you.

I went out for a short drive today and there were sirens, ambulances, police cars, speeding cars – funny craziness! I had to laugh and say under my breath, “It’s a funny full moon!” I got home a few minutes later and had emails and phone messages from friends telling me their latest desperations. I gently reminded one or two, “It’s a full moon, remember these are the times where you have your biggest bumps with…so and so…for like 20 years now…anyway, I chuckle and think some things never change.

But I take a bigger reflection into my relationship with the light of the moon. My awareness of the moon has grown exponentially over time and I never take for granted it’s effect on me and all the people I know. In my awareness I know the moon has its distinct pulls and pushes on us as it does the waves of the ocean, and I find it funny so many do not pay attention to the phase of the moon, especially when it is full of reflective light shining brightly into the darkness of day and night.

My words of advice to those who know they have highly reactive relationships with certain folks during a heated full moon:

1. Give it a day or two before you reply to that provoking email

2. Don’t answer the phone with these same people just to make a point – give it a day or two to reply

3. Enjoy the moon and reflect into why these relationships are in your life. Smile at the moon. Keep focused on the light!

I will never stop writing and teaching about the guidance, expression and intuition from the Heart! I’ve tried to make distinctions to people about the difference between of the head and the heart for a long time. It’s not so much about one or the other because we have them both, rather it’s about getting them to work together and teaching people to trust the heart more. It’s about encouraging people to let go of the control of the intellect to expand into the universal intelligence of the heart. This is the primary reason for the breathing meditations – to get people to a place where they can experience the magic of the universe through the heart. There is an energy flow that is accessed in the heart that is directly connected to a letting go in the brain. This stimulation point is an opening that happens when the hypothalamus gland gets stimulated in a way that is not about “fight or flight”. When the hypothalamus relaxes and releases its energy (endorphins) a spiritual opening is created within the mind that is connected to the heart. The heart is the command center within the body for the ductless glands (chakra’s), however the brain contains the master gland (hypothalamus). This is the duplicity that exists within the human. What controls what or who controls whom? The heart monitors the chakra system in a feminine way, and the hypothalamus gland has control over the chakra system in a masculine way. How to get the two to work in unison is the key. This is why we meditate, chant and pray. To create the willingness within the possibilities of being human to let go and open to the love and existence within the whole.

If I can make a suggestion for those interested in an intriguing question asked by Shawn Boyd in the COMMUNITY section of the site about moths. Surf on over to that section and click on the Healer Training/Spirit Animals topic, and read the posts. I am finding it very interesting to explore the comments starting out about the moth and making its way to the bat. As you will read there are times when animals are getting in our face and showing up as guides. To get the message they are bringing I am learning I have to drop any preconceived judgments I may have about two of the lesser glamorous animals in the winged world. Check it out and chime in if you have something to say. Thanks for your participation! David
