I went out for a short drive today and there were sirens, ambulances, police cars, speeding cars – funny craziness! I had to laugh and say under my breath, “It’s a funny full moon!” I got home a few minutes later and had emails and phone messages from friends telling me their latest desperations. I gently reminded one or two, “It’s a full moon, remember these are the timesĀ where you have your biggest bumps with…so and so…for like 20 years now…anyway, I chuckle and think some things never change.
But I take a bigger reflection into my relationship with the light of the moon. My awareness of the moon has grown exponentially over time and I never take for granted it’s effect on me and all the people I know. In my awareness I know the moon has its distinct pulls and pushes on us as it does the waves of the ocean, and I find it funny so many do not pay attention to the phase of the moon, especially when it is full of reflective light shining brightly into the darkness of day and night.
My words of advice to those who know they have highly reactive relationships with certain folks during a heated full moon:
1. Give it a day or two before you reply to that provoking email
2. Don’t answer the phone with these same people just to make a point – give it a day or two to reply
3. Enjoy the moon and reflect into why these relationships are in your life. Smile at the moon. Keep focused on the light!
People,
Although it wasn’t a full moon I did witness some strange happenings this past Tuesday Nov. 1st All Souls Day. I was very irritable which happens once in a while. Upon walking home from the store I heard 3 cars really get on their horns to the point that it was annoying and I had to vent my frustration by saying something out loud to no one in particular. I heard one car stop short.
That evening the bus was late. A car cut the bus off and I felt this coming. There was a bad accident as we got down the road. I didn’t look but people on the bus were commenting. It seems to have subsided pretty much today. I guess all the souls venturing out of here made it to where ever they were going. Maybe that’s what the hurry was, people getting caught caught in the vortex of all those souls leaving.
